How to Keep Creating Even When It Feels Like You're Not Making Progress

Taste vs. Talent: Why It's Okay to be Disappointed with Your Work

Read time: 2 minutes

Howdy,

Here's your weekly dose of The Creator Stream, a list of what I’m enjoying and consuming in the Creator Economy. It's a video-heavy edition this week so grab some popcorn and take all three incredible videos in.

My Favourite Things

šŸ“ø What I'm Watching - How to Keep Creating Even When It Feels Like You're Not Making Progress - Ira Glass's take on the creative process is a must-watch for any creator feeling stuck with their content.

It's a reminder that the creative process is never easy, to continue creating even when it feels like we're not making progress.

I watched this video ten years ago and come back to it every now and again. It's a great reminder that it's okay to be disappointed with our work when we have 'taste' and that a huge volume of work is the only thing that will close that gap to reach our full potential.

šŸ“ø What I'm Watching - How MaxPalaro Is Beating the YouTube Algorithm - Max Palaro took his dying channel to 2.4M subscribers, and he has some valuable insights to share about how to grow a gaming YouTube channel that can be applied to any niche on the platform.

šŸ“ø What I'm Watching - HOW I FAKED MY LIFE USING AI: or (THE LIFE AND DEATH OF RYAN GOSLING PERSON) - This video absolutely blew me away from a storytelling and editing perspective. Kyle Vorbach fooled his friends and family with photorealistic images created by AI technology StableDiffusion which he posted on social media. He explains how he made these photoreal pictures and documents his descent into madness.

It's a must-watch for anyone interested in pushing the boundaries of what's possible with today's technology. It really does make me think about how VTubers (Virtual YouTubers) and thumbnail designers will use this technology in the future to create content.

Thanks for reading, have a wonderful weekend! šŸ‘‹
